Sip on This...
Some people can’t function without caffeine. Not me! Water is what gets me going and helps me through my day! For as long as I can remember, I drink a huge glass of water every morning right when I wake up. And I continue to drink water at every meal and throughout the day. My body seriously can’t function without it—ice water, hot water with lemon, bottled water, filtered water, seltzer water.
Lucky for me, my beverage of choice is free, easily available and good for me too. Did you know water is an essential component of our bodies, makes up ⅔ of our body weight, and plays a vital role in maintaining nearly all major organ systems? I could give you so many reasons why you should drink water, but a few of the most important are it helps improve brain function, prevent heart disease, clear toxins, aid digestion and promote weight loss.
I know it’s not as easy for everyone to drink enough water. Even for me, somedays, it’s a struggle, but I want you to join me. Accountability is key! How much? General rule-take your body weight divide it in half and drink that many ounces of water each day.
Here are some tips to help you hydrate-
I recently downloaded this amazing app called waterlogged. It helps track water intake and is really easy to use. Total game changer. Accountabilty is everything!
Add flavor—fruit (lemon, grapefruit), veggie slices (cucumber), and herbs (mint, basil)

Have a glass right when you wake up (leave it right next to your bed)
Have a glass at every meal
Consume water dense vegetables and fruits such as cucumbers, tomatoes, jicama, beets, watermelon, carrots or celery as an additional and easy way to improve your hydration
